Our Principles.
1.
We are entirely non-partisan. We may endorse legislation, but never political parties or candidates. It is often impossible to untangle climate activism from politics, but we believe that we need everyone’s ideas and activism to create a more sustainable future. While it may often seem as though the climate crisis is a partisan issue, we believe that our activism must not reflect the world as it is, but the world as we wish it to be.
2.
Our rhetoric will always reflect a doctrine of hope. When reading news on the climate crisis, it is easy to feel hopeless. The current narrative we tell about global warming reflects that fear-- we tell stories about the disastrous effects of climate change, of the terrible reality we will face in 10 years; of anger, fear, and hopelessness. But here we want to tell a different story. It's not a story about fighting against something, but rather fighting for something. A story made whole by your individuality and made reasonable by the collectivism of the movement– both past and present. About the impossibility of the task before us, but also about how we make it possible. If we tell that story, we truly can create a different world.
3.
While adult mentors may advise us and help us to organize events, each club must be, at its core, entirely student-run. We are the generation that will live in the tomorrow that is created today-- we deserve to make the decisions that will decide our future!
Donations can directly impact Good Trouble’s reach and success in reaching our current goals. These contributions actively aid in providing for a variety of important aspects of Good Trouble. Donations help to cover service project costs along with protest costs. These events contribute to allowing us to continue to provide awareness and to advocate for climate change. This financial support can also help the cost of digital platforms that enable the network to be effective and efficient. By maintaining a website, this allows Good Trouble to continue to spread awareness with up to date, accurate information. Additionally, these donations can help to cover transportation costs, assisting in attending more events to make our voice heard. With your donation, Good Trouble can expand its reach and continue the fight against climate change.
